A little of my story
I started my photography career when I was 21 years old - the same year that I married Will. I loved every bit of it, late night wedding weekends with tired sore feet, photographing the most beautiful families in their most sacred moments, eventually growing a team of photographers and training them to do the same.
When I had my first daughter in 2015, I learned what it looked like to be a working mama on top of being an entrepreneur, a wife, and a team leader… leaning into the tension of all the demands and finding rhythms and workflows that supported the life of my dreams.
My second daughter arrived in 2017, and my surprise baby boy in 2018. (They told me he was going to be a girl, but that’s another story completely!) God began working on my heart, and I sensed a change was coming. In April of 2019 I launched the Work and Play Podcast, and at the end of 2019, I said goodbye to Nancy Ray Photography - my 12 year photography career. (You can listen to the entire story of that transitional time in my life in episode 4 of my podcast, or press play below).
Now I spend my time at home with my kids 6 days a week, working 1 day a week on my podcast and blog, and teaching you how to organize your own photos (yes, that does include the 1000+ on your phone right now). I’m passionate about speaking truth and teaching the things that have benefited me as a mama, an entrepreneur, and a believer.
More than anything, my heart is to help and encourage you, no matter where you are in your journey.
